It's Soo 2010 (Tips from Glamour)

7 Beauty Trends That’ll Be Big This Year
Some may remember 2009 as the year of the ox. Or the year of the vampire. Or perhaps the year of Lady Gaga. But we Girls in the Beauty Department will remember it by its slew of cool beauty trends—many of which will be played out by the time 2010 comes around. Which is why we rounded up the looks that are gonna be huge this year. From bright makeup to matte gloss and big braids, here’s your short list of beauty trends to keep your “total beauty know-it-all” rep going strong.
Look-at-me nails It’s time to ditch the sheer color. Although we loved the low-key champagne-color nails that Vanessa Hudgens wore to the 2008 Golden Globes, this year, nails will be bigger and brighter than ever! From Beyoncé-approved Minx metallic nails to suede polishes and loud neon hues like the one Brittany Gerena is flashing, nails in 2010 are all about expressing you. For great colors and special effects, try mixing and matching the polishes and topcoats from Creative Nail Design.
I love nailpolish and yes! I think I will go with this new trend!
Top-knot buns The chignon is a definite classic, but if you’re looking to change up your ‘do, give the ballerina bun a try. Steal this look from the dance studio, or the runway at Charlotte Ronson, by slicking all your hair back into a high ponytail, smoothing those flyways with a lightweight gel or smoothing cream. Then twist and secure with V-shaped pins (like Bunheads Hair Pins) for the hottest and easiest updo ever.
I have a round face (Mezleganat '7abaz as my former boss used to call it, in good way that is) buns on top or on the side don't look good on me.
Bright ‘n’ cheery lips Wearing your sunglasses at night and sporting a dramatic, dark lip does look pretty badass—but that’s been done (and done well) by Rihanna. Now a fun fuchsia pout is in—like this electric shade seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs. A pop of color makes just as much noise as the vampy black gloss that made its debut on the fall 2009 runways, but it’s 10 times cheerier. For bright lips that last, makeup artist Pat McGrath, who created fluorescent fire-engine red pouts at Prada, suggests using a stain (like CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain) under your lipstick or gloss for “boldness and staying power.”
Yes, this cherry lips is a can do...can't say Riri's lips are very enticing. Some colors no matter how trendy they are don't always look good on a person!
Ribbons as hair accessory If Queen Bee Blair Waldorf’s headbands were declared a college Don’t by Lonely Boy Dan Humphrey on the ‘09 season of Gossip Girl, then it might be time for us to hang up our headbands too. (Or at least give ‘em a day off.) Save the face-covering hair accessories (as seen here on Paris Hilton) for next Halloween and try a ribbon-accented updo like models wore on the Zac Posen runway. Get this look by braiding ribbon or a colored extension into your slicked-back chignon, or be daring with temporary color (like Streekers Wild Weekend) for hair that would make Rainbow Bright proud.
The last time I wore ribbons in my hair was like the Madonna' s bunny ears ribbon around the head in the late '80.
“Bumped up” hair You’ve seen (and maybe you’ve even tried) the infamous “as seen on TV” hair tool Bumpits, designed to add height to your ponytail. But this year, the new thing is to wear your pumped-up Brigitte Bardot-style hair loose, not pulled back. For the kind of sex-kitten volume seen on the catwalk at Paul & Joe, tease hair at the crown and use a texturizer (like Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray) for a “rough and tumble yet super-glamorous” look, says celeb stylist Mara Roszak. The only accessories you’ll need this season are a side part and your best heartbreaker smile.
I love this Bumped up hair do.. almost like a bedhead...no wait! it is a bedhead with anew Jazzy name!
Bright allover eyeshadow Smoky late-night party-girl eyes will always be in style, but all the cutting-edge It Girls have started showing up in colorful, shadowy eye makeup like the ones at Michael Kors. That means it’s A-OK to go crazy with the Crayola hues. The key is to keep it sophisticated—so whether you choose a shade that’s pastel or vibrant, keep the rest of the look neutral with a sheer gloss and bronzer for makeup that’s more dynamic and less Dynasty. One more tip? For more intensity, says makeup pro Pat McGrath, wet shadows to get richer hues.
Looking like clowns in the name of fashion! Maybe I'll try a more subtle color that would gowith my own coloring.
Supersized braids Teeny-tiny hippie braids were everywhere in ‘09—especially on Lauren Conrad, who seemed to work ‘em 24/7. But big, bold and beautiful braids popped up all over the runways this spring—which means they’ll be turning up on celebs and other hair pros soon. To make your braids seem super fresh, squeeze and scrunch them to make them look sexy and carefree—just like you!
I'm planning on chopping my hair, so I doubt I can opt this do anytime soon
