Wilbur Sargunaraj

Hilarious!

Sick Note

Since last Thursday both of my boys got ill with the tummy flu. It just has been crazy. The duties of taking care of them has been divided between the nanny and I. I get to watch them in the evening and she during the day. For the past four days, I hardly slept and spent most of the time in bed with them watching what Ahmed calls "Xsh O Xsh O Goship Girl" and "Fringe season 2". When Abdulaziz's fever spiked and I rushed him to the clinic he said, "Please mama don't let them take my brains out!" I had a book in my hand and was silently banging my head on it trying not laugh out loud. "Why would they take your brains out?" "Like in Fringe." I knew it's not him but the fever. So I tried to reason with him. "In all the years I've been taking you to Doctor Lutfi, has he ever operated on your brains?" "No." "So why are you worried then?" And still banging my head. They are still whining all the time and each of them want my attention. I'm exhausted and I feel like keeling over at any moment. It is just ridiculous the illnesses kids get during this season. The idea of taking a break is appealing to me so much now. I told Fahad I'm going to spend a couple of days at Hilton Mangaf by myself and treat myself to their Spa and food, while he takes care of the boys.

Wisdom Of the Week

Girls are like apples the best ones are at the top of the trees. The boys don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling. They just get the rotten apples that are on the ground that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think there is something wrong with them, when, in reality, they are amazing. They just have to wait for the brave one who climbs. Thanks to my Sis Drair :*

Fringe

New Show I'm watching and loving! I finished Season 1
and inshallah Season 2 is on the way.
I hope it will be as strong as the first season :)
Fringe is an American science fiction television series created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series follows a Federal Bureau of Investigation "Fringe Division" team based in Boston, Massachusetts under the supervision of Homeland Security. The team uses unorthodox "fringe" science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences, which are related to mysteries surrounding a parallel universe. The show has been described as a hybrid of The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel.
Fringe follows the exploits of special agent Olivia Dunham, mad scientist Walter Bishop, and his son, jack-of-all-trades Peter Bishop, as they investigate aspects of fringe science ranging from transhumanist experiments gone wrong to the apocalyptic prospect of a technological singularity to the possible existence of parallel universes. Unlike his other series, Lost, J.J. Abrams promises the series' story arc will be easier to follow and more accessible for those who skip an occasional episode. In an interview first published in September 2008, Abrams said: "Lost has garnered a certain reputation for being a very complicated show and one that you have to watch every episode. Fringe is in many ways an experiment for us, which is, we believe it is possible to do a show that does have an overall story and end game, which Fringe absolutely does… We can do a show that has that, so that there's a direction the show is going and there's an ultimate story that's being told, but also a show that you don't have to watch episodes one, two and three to tune into episode four." Roberto Orci, a co-creator, commented that Fringe "took its inspiration from The X-Files", but will “differentiate through the characters," and be a whole new take on the genre

Winter Where Art Thou?

We are reaching the end of November and still no sign of winter! Is Winter coming? Is it going to grace us with its presence this year? Are we going to feel the cold and chills crawling up our skins and huddle together for warmth and drink hot cocoa? Are we going to take out our winter clothes and furs and get to wear them?
Winter where art thou?

Brunch At Napket

A long time ago…about a few days before Eid, my little men and I were at the Avenues shopping and since I left the house without my breakfast I was starving! So I decided to take my princes for brunch at Napket! As usual the staff were friendly and welcoming. To tell you the truth…any place who can tolerate my boys and their antics I give them a 6 stars service. We decided to sit out on the terrace and the weather was amazing which reminded me of a spring day in Paris. We had a great time!
Ahmed wanted a Criossant with Emmental & Tomato
Which I ended eating the rest of it ;p The fries were very yummy! and they had two kind of dips with it, Ketchup and some kind of spicy mayo.
I loved! Just Loved! the thin crust pizza with mushrooms
and cherry tomatoes
And of course no trip to Napket ends
without a frozen raspberry yogurt!
Yummy and refreshing!

What a Wonderful World

I love this song! It Brings a smile on my face whenever I hear it. Stay positive, love and be at peace! Have a wonderful week!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows P1

I've always been a fan of Harry Potter. Read all the books and watched all the movies which came out. I thought the last part "The Deathly Hallows" was rather long and dull, and I didn't have high expectations for the movie to be that good. But I was wrong.
I loved the action packed movie and it really had its scary and sad moments. If you are a crybaby like me, then you better come prepared with your kleenex! I can't say why I cried, don't want to spoil it for you, but there was this annoying guy sitting near us laughing!!! I wanted to bang him on the head with my water bottle. I guess it is his way to deal with sadness. Instead of crying he laughs! But so annoying!
Do not miss it. It was great and I can't wait for Part 2

Let's Talk Beauty

I first read about these supplements on Ansam 518 blog. I passed
by Boots and got them for KD22.
What I liked about them was, I take them before bed.
Unlike HiarVit, which I take during the day and plays havoc
with my appetite!!! and bye bye diet!
After ten days I really noticed the difference. My hair stopped falling
as it used to. My nails, although I had no problem with my nails, are strong
and my skin is more radiant!
Highly Recommended!
So While I picked Purelogicol, I saw this Yogurt face mask.
I usually stick to the brand I use for face creams soaps and masks.
I was out of moisturizing mask and wasn't in the mood to swing by Rawdha co-op
so I picked this one. It was inexpensive. Can't remember the price, but compared
to what I usually pay for my masks, it was cheap.
I tried the mask on my face and didn't want to remove it! I have dry skin and
this mask was so rich compared to what I use. Highly Recommended!
A tip to facial masks? Keep them cool in the fridge ;)

Tidbits Here & There

Crazy Mom!
Yes, I'm a neurotic woman when it comes to my children, especially when I feel their safety has been threatened. They've been invited to a friend, who I trusted was a responsible person. Then later on in the evening, I find out that this friend sent my kids with her kids to Avenues during the evening rush hour with only the nannies. My nanny who didn't like the situation, called our driver and asked him to pick them up. The driver reached the Avenues saw the jam, and he couldn't reach where my kids were waiting panicked and called me. That is when I found out. Apparently my nanny wanted to do some damage control and wanted to take care of the situation without telling, knowing how crazy I get. But the driver who is used to tell me everything called me. I was incensed. I picked the phone, my friend replied and the only thing I remember was yelling at her. My friend was offended and thought it was nothing to get that upset about. Never in my life have I sent my kids alone with the nanny to a crowded place like the Avenues without supervision from me or any of my relatives! What if something happens to them? How am I going to reach them? If something happens to my kids, who should I blame? Certainly not the nanny! Yes, they go to certain places with the nanny, but not crowded places like the Avenues, and not when I have other peoples kids with me! Am I wrong to get crazy?
Can I or Not?
Now the weather is getting more beautiful every day, I find myself eating out a lot. Last week I spent every morning with one of my friends or my kids in one of the restaurants or Cafes in Marina Crescent, Souq Sharg and AlKout. Yes, it is messing my diet even when I'm trying to make smart choices in what I order. We are also working on a new line of ice cream which will be introduced in 2011 inshallah, and I'm eating a lot of it! Please no more! I tell myself, but I find myself reaching for it and eating the delicious mixes I came up with ;p The problem is I need to lose at least one dress size before I'm off on my vacation, and I have about a month to do it. How many Kgs in 1 dress size???? Can I? I really hope that I do.
New Hope
At last I met with Abdulaziz's new teacher. I did mention in a previous post the school changed the teacher for the third time! First it was a meeting for all the parents. So I only had few minutes of exchanging words with her after the meeting. The first thing she told me "I've been dreaming about meeting you!" Apparently she has been sending me word since she took over Abdulaziz's class, which has never reached me. Yes, at that moment I wanted Abdulaziz near me to strangle him. "He is not stupid. He has a devious mind. His French language and accent is perfect. He has no trouble with his French or Math. But he is in a world of his own and he has a gang!" she tells me. This is when the school principle came into the conversation and told me that he wanted a private meeting with me regarding that subject. "I know about the gang. They fight with the school bully. Did you contact his parents too?" I asked him. He was surprised. I don't blame him, the bully knows how to weasel himself out of sticky situations from the stories I've heard about him. Anyway, after this break I have a meeting with this new school principle and I have a bit of hope he can control the situation and the new teacher is ready to cooperate with me. Yay!
New Direction
I thought by the weather cooling, work would be a little bit less hectic. Yes, the initial craziness of keeping up with summer demands has slowed down a bit, but now is time for focusing on the neglected part of the business. A week ago we had a meeting with a couple of gentlemen who have pointed out certain things which needed our attention. Thus, if we complete this we might go onto our next step in our business and a new direction. I am sounding a bit cryptic, because I'm not at liberty to get into details. Besides all that, we are working on a new line which is the only exciting part of work right now.
What do you suggest needs our focus? Your suggestions might help and very much appreciated ;) (we're working on a menu)

House of Hunks

Karl-Heinz Urban (born August 7 , 1972) is an actor from New Zealand. He is best known for playing Éomer in the second and third installments of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the 2009 film Star Trek and Julius Caesar on Xena: Warrior Princess. He played Vaako in The Chronicles of Riddick and the Russian assassin Kirill in The Bourne Supremacy, and won acclaim for his performances in New Zealand films The Price of Milk and Out of the Blue.
I can't remember when it was the first time I saw him on screen...was it Lord of the Rings or the Bourne Supremacy... what I remember it was love at first sight! *sigh* and last week most of his movies were played on TV.... including Pathfinder *hothothothot!*

Gossip Girl

Yes I'm a late comer to the show and I'm smitten with Gossip Girl! I have become a hermit! I'd send my kids out and lock myself in my lair and watch it for hours on end. My favorite character is Chuck Bass. I just love him! My kind of guy! A snappy dresser, intelligent and full of character and very loyal to his friends and family. My least favorite is Nate. I've started on Season 3 this afternoon and already I don't like the first two episodes, I hope it will turn out to be as good as season 1 & 2. Oh! How could I be so airheaded and forget the fashion??? The Fashion! It is unbelievable! No wonder why most fashionistas are addicted to the show. And of course the Gossip!!! I'm not the type who likes to gossip… but who doesn't like to hear about a tidbit of scandal every now and then?? I have two friends who live for gossip and whenever I feel bored I call them… I don't have to talk. They do all the talking and I get to know what's going on in this country ;p quiet a refreshment to my dull life ;ppp By the way do we have a Kuwaiti Gossip Girl?

Your Chocolate Fix!

There is nothing logical about this game!!!
You can't think striaght by staring at those chocolates! I swear my stomach was rumbling just looking at the picture on the box ;p

Our newest flavor Peanut Butter! Very Yummy and add to it
some chocolate syrup or Oreo garnish ;)

Asha's

On that day I only had a latte for breakfast by lunch hour I was starving and the only thing I can think of is Butter Chicken! I called Asha's and placed my order of Butter Chicken, Veggie Biryani and Nan bread for pickup. I Loved the Butter Chicken, although it played havoc on my digestive system after that. The rice was spice in not hot way, and lacked that biryani flavor. The Nan was faboulous, the boys ate it for me.
My Butter Chicken...mildly spiced and deliciously sweet ;)

Love Letter - Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Williem Van Gogh : 30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th century art for its vivid colors and emotional impact. He suffered from anxiety and increasingly frequent bouts of mental illness throughout his life and died, largely unknown, at the age of 37 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

September 7, 1881

Life has become very dear to me, and I am very glad that I love. My life and my love are on. "But you are faced with a 'no never never' is your reply. My answer to that is, "Old boy, for the present I look upon that 'no never never' as a block of ice which I press to my heart to thaw."

Flugtag - Sorry bas la 3adat!

So I read about Red Bulls Flugtag on the bloggersphere, and I think to myself "Yeah, why not?" Something new for the kids to watch and to do for the weekend. (BIG MISTAKE) So we arrive there at 12:15 pm, and Marina Crescent was packed! First thing we do is look for somewhere to sit. Nothing! All the restaurants and Cafes are crowded! My boys each run off to play with their bikes and I find a place under the shade to stand. The event was big, and I know a lot of effort was put into it, but by the time they began it was around 1:30 pm and I was having enough. The presenters were annoying, they talked too much, and Blal AlShami, although I like him, I thought him unnecessary because no one could see his group dancing. I managed to take pictures for the first team "Kuwiat Riders", then I had to put my camera away and pick up my baby so he could enjoy the show. By the time the third plane turn came I was gone.
Abdulaziz looking Snazzy in his Aviators

"Hmmm…maybe it was a mistake to come?" I don't like crowds and my boys will grow edgy. Yes, I might sound a bit obnoxious but I've encountered species I didn't know existed in Kuwait. Abdulaziz was bored and started whining, Ahmed got crancky and started crying and I wanted to strangle "alhajjia" and her family who brought their chairs in front of me placing them in a semi circle, thus occupying more space, and then putting her kids bikes creating a gate around them and annoying all those standing by. "Madri ga3da bshare3 obooich!" I argue with the family, "Shilo gweareekom! Emthaygeena w emza7meena!" "La yeboogoonhom." One of the women replied. "Shino yeboogoonhom?? Wain ga3deen??? Hathi al Kuwait! Kilmin 3ayish be5air w ne3ma! Kani 7a6a gewari 3yalli 3end alsheyara! Ma7ad jas'hom wala garab 9obhom!" OMG! I can't remember when the last time I yelled in public. "Etha 5ayfa 3alahom 7e6eehom jedamkom! Lawa3tow chabdna w thaygtoona! 7eso 3ala damkom!" I made them remove the bikes. Yes I'm nasty. But those around me were pleased. I know they were all cowards and didn't dare to speak up. So I had to do it. Ten minutes later… I left. It is the last time I go to an open event, unless it is worth it.

Bored + Tired + Hot = Cranky!
He is smiling after he had his juice...
well only for a short time :s
Bilal AlShami and his group dancing. "Kuwait Riders Team" they were the first to go

I admire those who built the planes. Bravo!

Hello Hellooooo!

I woke up this morning with U2 sernading in my ears "Hello Hello!" And I'm saying to all "Hellooo Helloooo Kuwait Enjoy Your Week!!!!" ;)

The Watchmen

The Watchem... I had it on DVD for a while and I only played it once
and turned it off after the first 10 min... I wasn't in the mood at the time
to watch this kind of movie... It had a slow beginning. Last night I was home
alone and was in one of my moods... the movie was played on one of the
OSN movie channels...so yeah... I watched it.
I highly recommend it if you love mystery and dark moody atmosphere of graphic novels, because this movie was very graphicy and a good end for a crapy day ;p
In an alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?
Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre...
Hmmm I wonder if I become a superhero
would I be this hot?
Patrick Wilson... though of him as a very HOT
Nite-Owl!
Jeffery Dean Morgan.... *sigh* as the Comedian
Adrian Goode as Ozymandias...I liked
him better in "Leap Year"
Yes..I'm going to watch it again ;)
