Weekend Movies

W

I spent last weekend watching movies.
First we took the boys to  "The Avengers" although the boys really and truly behaved themselves at the theater…behind us was sitting a kid with his parents expressing his excitement by yelling his head off and right into my ear.
Honestly…I have never in my life desired to commit murder as much as that day. He was so noisy, the people sitting next to them left after the first quarter of the movie. And his parents never said anything to him.
Anyway..back to the movie… I really want to go watch it again uninterrupted, even poor Ahmed is nagging me to when he could go watch it again.
From what I saw, it was an amazing movie, filled with action, wit and comedy. But the plus side of it… Ladies… lots of eye candy!!! *sigh*
All actors who are playing the parts of Captain America, Iron man, Thor, Hulk & Hawkeye are really really cute... but I was more attracted by the tortured soul of Loki!!! The madness in his eyes and that visciousness about him… Yep I have a soft spot for bad guys!

 The Avengers

Tom Heddleston who plays Loki on the far left...
Chris Hemsworth and Kenneth Branagh.
Here at the premire of Thor.

Second movie I watched later in the evening after tucking the boys in their beds, "This Means War"… I've mentioned on previous posts how much I adore Chris Pine. Well he stars in this movie with Tom Hardy.  This is a major eye candy movie! Reese Witherspoon was her cute self in the movie and she had the support of Chelsea Handler, but I think Chris Pine and Tom Hardy stole the whole movie from her.
It is funny and very cute movie with lots of "Gaga" moments for me. Don’t know which one I liked better, Tom Hardy or Chris Pine.

Movie Review - 50/50

Inspired by a true story: Adam Lerner has a pretty great life -- with a talented, sexy artist girlfriend and a cool job with NPR, the 27-year old seems to have it all. But when Adam discovers he has a rare and possibly fatal form of cancer, his entire life turns to chaos.

As his world starts to unravel in every way, Adam finds himself dealing with the wellmeaning but totally outrageous attempts by his friends and family to make it all better. His best friend, Kyle, uses Adam's condition to lure girls into sympathy sex, his overbearing mother loses sight of him in her own fears, his otherwise-occupied girlfriend, Rachael tries to distract herself an increasingly frantic social life, and Katherine, the inexperienced therapist assigned to his case, struggles to keep up with the needs of her third client ever.

Yes, it is heartbreaking, funny and heartwarming. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

Movie Review - Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room... until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large - Professor Moriarty - and not only is he Holmes' intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.

Holmes' investigation into Moriarty's plot becomes ever more dangerous as it leads him and Watson out of London and across Europe, to France, Germany and finally to Switzerland.
But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead as he spins a web of death and destruction - all part of a greater plan that, if he succeeds, will change the course of history.

I Loved it! I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. I love Robert Downey Jr.... He is amazing and fun and I just can't get enough of him. The movie is one of those movies you'll watch over and over and never get bored off.
I highly recommend you watch it ;)
and hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

I loved! Yes! Loved! Robert Downey Jr. hair in the movie...
I want to grow the boys hair like his ;)

Movie Review - A Whole Bunch of Them

Again my best part of the day when my boys are in bed. My popcorn freshly popped, a jug of crystal light iced fruit punch and a movie. *Sigh* it is so relaxing!

Here are the movies with a short comment
of what I thought of them.

Loved this movie... very inspiring and will watch
it over and over on a cloudy day with a cheesy pizza.

Fabulous! Just imagine you get picked up at midnight in Paris and get transported in time and meet all the great artist and writers in the early fifties and get transported again to meet more from the early 1900!!! Wow! What a dream!
I highly recommend you watch this movie with a bunch of your girl friends!!! Hilarious!!! Couldn't stop laughing! Watched it twice! First time by myself, second time with my sisters and I laughed even more ;)

"Meh"
I liked the originals with Arnold better.

Breathtakingly disgusting! I just couldn't digest the whole movie. I need to watch it again.

Funny! Entertaining...and Collin Farell makes a very hot vampire.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

Movies We Watched

One of the reasons I enjoy going to the movies in Dubai it isn't because the movies are uncensored…it's because wherever Cineplex I go to they have very clean bathrooms! (3azkom allah)

Whenever there is a group of blockbusters are being played on the same week, we fly there for a couple of days just to enjoy them,
un-slaughtered by censorship.

I love the selection of sweets, chocolate, drinks and popcorns at the counter; they even have ice creams, fries, hotdogs nachos and crepes in savory and sweet flavors. I know we have something similar here but there it is tastier! Maybe because they have a bigger selection to choose from.

There were times on past trips, when we stayed there for a whole day, watching four movies in a day!

We spent time at Festival City Cinema and Grand Megaplex
(Ibn Battuta Mall)

 Who doesn't love Wonka Candy??!!!

Giant M&M's it lasted 3 days with me :)

Popcorn flavored salts...I know TSC brings them and I bought them few times...but it was a surprise to find them at the cinema :)

Some wipes to clean up after having a greasy hotdog
or a mix of sweet and salty popcorn ;p

 Yummy Fries!
However you like them...I had the twisters

Oh yes..your own 3D glasses... new, clean and unworn,
but you have to pay for them..
I took them back for the boys ;p

Now the movies we watched:

I was really looking forward to watch this movie.
It was entertaining and I liked the action but
highly exaggerated and unrealistic.

Very entertaining. I loved the Rocky meets Robetech theme!
Waiting to get a copy on DVD for the boys to watch it
on our family movie night.

It was ok and had it's funny moments...
Fahad didn't like it.

Cowboys and Aliens??? It was a very fun movie to watch!!!
I loved it actually and there were some scenes
when I jumped out of my seat!
We both loved the movie.

The plot has been exhausted in several movies,
 nevertheless, it was very funny!
For those who didn't watch the movie
wait until it comes out on DVD.

Well that was it...

Movie Review - La Princesse de Montpensier

Yesterday I watched La Princesses de Montpensier, a period romance. I love French period movies
because I feel they are so meticulous to details, and since France
is littered with Chateauxs the sceneries are breathtaking.
Not to forget to mention how poetic
the story line is in these movies.
I highly recommend you watch this movie not only because of the romantic story, filled with love, passion, loyalty and betrayal, but because, Ladies, it is filled with a lot of eye candy ;p
Move over American, Brithish and Australian actors!!!
The French are taking over!!!

"The Princess of Montpensier is a 2010 French period romance film directed by Bertrand Tavernier, inspired by a short story anonymously published by Madame de La Fayette. It stars Mélanie Thierry in the title role, alongside Gaspard Ulliel, Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet, Lambert Wilson and Raphaël Personnaz. The story takes place in the French aristocracy during the Wars of Religion, and focuses on a young woman who is forced into marriage while passionately in love with another man. The film competed at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival and was released in French cinemas on 3 November 2010"

Now the Eye Candy ;p

Movie Review - Captain America

Few days ago I watched Captain America starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell and Tommy Lee Jones. It is your typical fun super hero movie, good versus evil,
and it made me wonder....
why is it banned??? I still don't get it!

Honestly it is so puzzling... because I don't see anything wrong with the movie...any comic fan would know the story of Captain America and how he got his powers...
so I came to this assumption...
Is it because Captain America was a skinny sick man before he was
injected with a serum which changed him into....Yeah...
Look at the picture below :p

As far as I know the only super hero who
was born with super powers is Super Man.
Spider Man was bitten with by a spider and the
next morning he was crawling up walls.
Wolverine is immortal. He never dies!
Women and men go to plastic surgeons to get the fat
in their bodies sucked out and their faces lifted and their
whole appearance changed...
So what is so special about Captain America  to get him banned??

 Or is it Red Skull???
He is one of my favorite characters in the
movie... he makes me laugh ;p

Update: I just read on KNCC that Captain America
will one of the Eid movies...
Nevertheless...I've already watched it...
uncut :)

The Woman in Black Official Trailer

Daniel Radcliffs new role after our beloved Harry Potter.
Tell you the truth I don't like horror movies...
but this looks good and I will be brave and go watch it!

Movie Review - X Men First Class

Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Hmmm....

I adore Jeniffer Lawrence.

 Hmmmm....?? ^_^ Yum?

Just don't ask me why...
But I'm in love with Michael Fassbender

And of course who isn't in love
with James McAvoy

Here is the cast of the new X Men...
I loved the 60's retro style of the movie.
Enjoyed the movie, except for the hacket scene,
even Abdulaziz loved it.
can't wait for Kumar's visit with DVD's
hope he'll have a clear copy by then.
