Movie Review - The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet (PBUH)

Last night I couldn't sleep. I'm not sure why? Maybe because I'm a year older now ;p So I decided to check the DVD pile I have. It's been a while I have sat and watched a movie. The Kingdom Of Solomon the Prophet (PBUH) got my attention. It is an Iranian production and let me say...Amazing!!! It is a great Movie, although the copy had wasn't as clear as I've liked, and since I'm not that great in Arabic the subtitles were a bit distracting. I had to pause every now and then to read them. Inshallah I'll get an original copy.
I highly recommend it.

Summer is Here!

So summer is here! What to do with two energetic boys? There so many summer camps offers and such, on news papers and social media. But none of them offers what I feel is necessary for my boys.

I want a boot camp! With retired military men shouting orders and wearing the boys down with drills! (Lol! I bet you're thinking what kind of a mom I am. Believe me one week with Abdulaziz (may God protect him) and you'll know how I feel).

I have a whole program outlined for him, I just have few loose strings to take care of. Ahmed will head to Little Gym inshallah. I hope he'll enjoy it l'6bana!

Like every summer I order books and cartoons for them. I ordered from Amazon France some reading comprehension with work books, they have interesting stories which covers several subjects, Like Middle Ages, which Abdulaziz learned about this year, Mythology, which might be covered next year and other fairy tales. I love these books, because of the work books which come with them. I also ordered books to prepare him for next year. Story books for Ahmed, and Cartoons.

I love those books. Not only they have interesting stories,
they come with work books.

 Ahmed's favorite cartoon.
So I ordered for him new DVDs and story books. He was so happy and overwhelmed when they arrived he started crying!

Books for both boys to work on during the
summer.

Tom Sawyer, a classic which I remembered watching when I was a kid. Actually I've learned my French by watching these cartoons. Abdulaziz is in love with it.
"Mama, Tom Sawyer is like me. He is always getting
in trouble" he tells me.

Oh…oh!!! Did I make a mistake by ordering Tom Sawyer?

So cute! The treasure box of Barbapapa had a little
stuffed toy in it.

The Mac&Cheese Bug!

Yes... Yes... Yes... I've been bitten by the Mac&Cheese bug
On the night Ansam tweeted she has the Mac & Cheese craving
Thank God I've already had my dinner.
Then Denderma tweeted a pic.
After her Swera...and everyone is tweeting about it.
To save my diet... I signed off twitter for the evening ;p
Still the next morning I can't stop thinking
about Mac&Cheese, and the next day
and the day after...until last Friday, my free day ;p
But staying true to my diet, I bought low fat ingredients, and
for lunch, Friday Pasta, I made Lowfat Mac&Cheese.
I followed Ansams recipe and it was easy and devine, even
the kids loved it!

Wisdom Of the Week

"Children have never been very good
at listening to their elders,
but they have never failed to imitate them." - James Baldwin

Movie Review - Fast Five..plus a bit of Te7l6um

I know I haven't been posting much for the past weeks. I've been pretty busy. It is high season for our business now and trying to keep up with demands. Then a couple hours of rest before I start revision with Abdulaziz for his exams. The problem, I have no clue when his exams are and what they are covering. When I called a couple of moms who's kids are with Abdulaziz, asking them about the French subjects, both replied, "3lmi 3lmich." It is the end of the year. The school administration is closing their doors to any sort of complaints and honestly this school year for Abdulaziz is a joke! I hope next year would be better. However, after days of being cooped up at home, I really needed to get out. Abdulaziz and his friends wanted to go to the movies. Another dilmma I'm facing. Some of his friends get to watch movies, which I normally do not allow him to watch, I don't like him to see too much action or violence. And poor baby he is beginning to feel the odd one out when his friends talk about these movies and he has no idea what they're talking about. So I gave in and took them to watch Fast Five. *sigh*! Just let me tell you, a lot of eye candy!!! Yes ladies better go watch the movie with your girlfriends. I honestly wished I was with my sister or one of my girlfriends. Of course, the guys would love it too with all the action and cars speeding around ;p All in all it was a fun movie.
Since Brian O'Conner and Mia Toretto broke Dom Toretto out of custody, they've blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he's not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can't separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey... before someone else runs them down first.
*Sigh*
* I love you!*
double *sigh* My favorite scene in the movie
Two alpha males trading blows.
It was just Hot!

An Unforgettable Lady: Book Review

Just finished reading An Unforgettable Lady, by my all time favorite Author J.R. Ward, writing as Jessica Bird. I love her Black Dagger Brotherhood series, if you are into the Vampire genre. They are absolutely hot!!! They are just raw!!! Full of action and street slang and weapons and looooove! Even the guys would love these series. I lent it the series to one of my cousins who wanted to read something different than the usual and he just loved them!!! He went MIA during the time he started reading the series. Then he sent me a msg.."I want More!" ;p An Unforgettable Lady is contemporary reprint which she started writing before the BDB series. Grace is beautiful, feminine and strong. John Smith is pure raw alpha male with lots of insecurities when it came to his feelings for his lady love. He made me weep! Just love him! There were times when the books dragged a little bit, making wonder what happened during these nights when they didn't go out and stayed home. But the hotness in it made up for everything! I found the book while shopping at Borders in Dubai…*sigh* love Borders! Why don't we have decent book stores here??? It is either ordering from amazon.com our picking books while traveling! I think I will open a book store for the romantics like me! No Oprah book club! Nope! About the book: Forced into the spotlight by her fabulous wealth, heiress Grace Hall isn?t always prepared for the consequences of her standing. When a string of attacks against the city?s most prominent women leaves Grace vulnerable, the refined beauty reluctantly hires a bodyguard. Now she finds herself subject to the ironclad will of her new protector. In spite of her frustration, Grace is drawn to John Smith in ways she can?t explain. For beneath his tough exterior and dark past, there?s an inner core that is tantalizingly seductive.John knows that when you?re a professional bodyguard, it needs to be all business. But such conduct makes for a solitary life with few ties and too many good-byes. Grace was supposed to be just another assignment on a long list. Yet there?s something about her that gets under his skin. With each passing day, the attraction grows more intense?until John is faced with a decision he never thought he?d have to make. Can he give up the only life he?s ever known to be with the only woman he? ever loved?

JR Wards Website... read more about her other books. I highly recommend the BDB series. I just love them and can't get enough of them, I'm also starting on her Fallen Angels series inshallah :) http://jrward.com/

Play With My Hair

I was getting bored with my hair color. I went to this lady who I've see coloring hair for a while when I went to my usual hairdresser and asked her if she can give me this drak caramelish brown hair color. I even showed her pictures of what I had in mind and emphasized that I do not like red! Well it is clear I ended up with a redish brown hair. Hated it!! Not only that, whatever color products she used on me were too harsh for my sensitive scalp. It isn't the first time I use color. I usually use the ones bought at the supermarket and have the girls at the Salon apply it to my roots. Why the heck did I go to this woman and turned my dark brown hair into red I do not know! Anyway, I gave my hair a rest because the chemicals in the color was too harsh and my scalp got irritated and had to go to the doc. The color was fading and becoming sickening. I can't look at myself in the mirror, and it made my skin look dull, to make matters worse I went and bought a darker shade of color from the supermarket. My hair had two shades of color d by then, dark brown and redish brown. I've read so much reviews about Toni & Guy, and heard my sister and cousins talking about it. So I decided to give them a try. Ansam recommended Emma for color and Allison for blow dry and the next day I went to see her. I told Emma what I wanted and she took a small sample from my hair just to test it and see if I'll get the shade I wanted and took an early appointment for the next day. Of course Emma had to strip the redish color, and then reapply a new color. The products were amazing, I didn't feel the slightest itch or burn on my scalp. The result was a gorgeous cool brownish caramel and no hint of red! I did a hair treatment which I really love, leaving my hair supple and smooth. She gave me a shampoo and conditioner. Honestly I was skeptical about it, fearing it would irritate my scalp, but it is an amazing shampoo giving me the same result as if I treated my hair and did it at the salon, and it smells fresh! But hey! Do you think I've learn my lesson? Noooo…. So we have a family event and needed to do my hair and makeup. A friend of mine recommends a place where they specialize in these stuff. I take an appointment and tell them what I wanted. When I reached there, my hair was clean and washed, but the stylist insisted I should wash it again. While washing my hair I felt a slight burn to my scalp but didn't give it a thought. She blow dried my hair and used those old fashioned irons on a small fire stove. I asked why she is using it, they were too hot for the hair. She said they give a better results than the electric ones. I didn't argue. My hair and make turned out to be great. But the next morning was a nightmare! I wake up the next morning. My scalp was burning me! I knew there was something wrong. I got dressed and headed to my doc. It was really early, she barely had her coffee. I told her about everything and it seemed the shampoo they used on me at that salon caused an allergic reaction. She gave me some meds and shampoo to use for a week. When I got back home I washed my hair and noticed that not only this stylist used a shampoo which caused an allergic reaction but also stripped my hair color! It looked orange! My cool caramel brown is gone! Oh not only that. The lower part of my hair close to the nape of my neck was all burned from the primitive way she used the irons. Yes! Burned! I had to snip them off. I was so pissed. I called them and told them what had happened and that they should check the expiration of their shampoos! Or use better quality. Anyway I gave my scalp a couple more weeks until I felt it much much better and went back to Toni & Guy. I didn't realize how awful my hair was until I retouched the roots and colored it all over again the same shade I had the first time. After that, I did the orange blossom treatment which I adore. I love the scent of my hair after the treatment. Allison who trimmed and blow dried my hair gave me a cream to protect my strands from blow drying which I love and it smelled like the pink Agent Provocateur perfume. Four weeks now my hair still feels great and looks great. Lesson learned, stick to the people I know I can trust with their professionalism and take my shampoo and hair cream with me if I went to a different place. I just can't stop playing with my hair! ;p

My Short Break

So I am back from an impromptu trip to Dubai. My sister had some business to conduct there and asked me to join her. Soon our numbers increased. Of course I can't go anywhere without Fahad and the boys. Besides we took it as an opportunity to celebrate Abdulaziz's birthday. We stayed at Atlantis resort. It was nice and very crowded. Still I feel I like Oman's Bar AlJissa Shangri-La's better for zoning out and relaxing. Abdulaziz's gift from his aunt was to spend the morning with the dolphins. We had a great time. During the day we spent our time at the pool or the beach, and the evenings we went to the malls. There wasn't much to shop for…maybe because I wasn't in a shopping mode or maybe I couldn't find anything which had the WOW factor for me, but my eyes did glaze and every thought of going from shop to shop evaporated when I found Borders. My sister shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Are you sure you're my sister?" she asks and walks into one of the stores. It was an exhausting trip but nevertheless entertaining. I don't know what I would done without my sis. the boys drove me gaga! I would have ended having a nervous breakdown ;p
I managed to snap pictures here and there
when I wasn't distracted out of my wits!
