Nino

My free day!! My one free meal has come, still I haven't made up my mind where to go for lunch. We don't like Avenues during crowded hours so we looked around us to places near by. Japanese? It was a yes and no. Italian? Maybe. Middle Eastern? Not in the mood. Sea Food? Not really. Fahad was a bit impatient because he was hungry, as for I, I had a snack earlier so I wasn't as hungry. "Nino?" I suggested. "Yes!" He quickly got up not giving me time to reconsider my suggestion.
And to Nino we went!
Peach Belinni
Greek Salad.
Routini Slider
It has been ages I haven't been there. I remember before I got married, my friends and I go there after work at least once a week. I used to love their roasted vegetable salad (which sadly isn't on the menu anymore). We reached there, for a Thursaday, it wasn't crowded as it used to be, and when we walked in the staff were happy to see us seated. The décor is still the same. Nothing changed much, except for the crowd there. Not the usual crowd I was used to, and there were a lot of empty tables. We ordered a Greek salad, Routini sliders, Picatta Limone, Chicken & Saffron Risotto, and we shared a warm chocolate cake. I had a peach Bellini which was good. All in all, the food was good, although Fahad said my risotto was better :D, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. What I think, Nino needs a makeover.

The Skating Rink at Marina Mall

The weekend before last, we were at Marina Mall with the kids, so we decided to take them to the ice skating rink on the upper level next to the Cinema and Baskin Robbins, after reading about it on Mark's blog.
Abdulaziz and his BF Yousef had a blast. But I felt the rink was naked. There are no safety measures and there was only a picket fence with sharp edges. Around the rink there isn't any hand rails for the kids to grab on.
I didn't let Ahmed go with them...my poor baby was crying. I was sitting on edge the whole time afraid that one of them will get hurt.
It is a good idea. The wax is softer than ice, although it is cold, but if the owner would make a little effort and put some safety measures and maybe paint the walls in something that would attract the attention of the kids and maybe hire someone who skates and would engage the kids in some fun activities while skating, because the boys got bored 20min after they got in and didn't complete their hour.
We paid KD1 for an hour for each kid.

LoFat....What Happened?

It was a loooong hot stuffy day. I came back home feeling so hungry, since I had a very early breakfast and the day was so busy I didn't have time to snack. I checked out what the cook has prepared...not so appetizing. Actually...ana tenesait fee 6eba'7 al cook... and most of the time I don't like what he prepares...but Fahad has no problem with him so I can't complain much.
I was too tired to stand in the kitchen and prepare something for myself... so I took out my Bazaar food directory and browsed through the many restaurant menus.... I want something delicious and satisfying. I began drooling just going over the menus...I almost called The Kitchen since I haven't tried it before...but then I felt selfconscious. I had worked so hard during the week I didn't want to spoil my diet and my one day free is still few days ahead.
Anyway I settled for LoFat. It has been a while I haven't ordered from them. I used to order 3...4 times a week but then I stopped can't remember why. I placed an order for a roast beef sandwich, Chicken Ravioli, cesar salad and some cookies.
I love LoFat...don't get me wrong... but I don't know, did they change their recipes or did they change the cook. Or it wasn't that persons day when he or she prepared the meal, because it wasn't that good. It used to be full of flavor.

Their sandwich changed. They used to have that

special sauce (roasted red pepper with mayo and a little ketchup I think)

This time they had something different in it, if it wasn't for the roasted veggies

it would have been tasteless.

The Cesar Salad wasn't that good also.

The Chicken Ravioli was very salty and I can't taste any

chicken, I couldn't finish the small portion I had on my plate.

The cookies were dry.

Robin Hood

In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. And whether thief or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol of freedom for his people. "Robin Hood" chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self-preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French. Upon Richard's death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion, a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff. With their country weakened from decades of war, embattled from the ineffective rule of the new king and vulnerable to insurgencies from within and threats from afar, Robin and his men heed a call to ever greater adventure. This unlikeliest of heroes and his allies set off to protect their country from slipping into bloody civil war and return glory to England once more.
Oscar Issac as the Tyrant King John... I just loved his
performance. He wins the Bad Guy of the Year Award ;p
I'm out of whack this week.... a lot on my mind which I will write about later....but to distract myself I spent a lot of time occupying myself out of my reality by reading or going to the movies... Among the movies I watched this week was Robin Hood... Not the Mythology you'll be expecting to watch... Robin Longstride (Russle Crow) wont be stealing from the rich and distributing to the poor... or seeing him doning a disguise and competing in an archery contest... or fighting with Little John on the river.... No... it is the actual story of Robin Longstride (Which I remember reading about in High school) a man who fought in the Crusade with King Richard the Lion Heart. Upon returning back to England and heading to the Loxely's, for Robin Longstride it was all about self preservation. Anyway... Fahad was confused... he didn't know the actual story. I was also confused in the beginning until I understood it was about the actual story and not the legend. Still the movie could have been better. What I loved about the movie and felt them very real were the bad guys! The Tyrant King John who loved his taxes and he was short enough to suffer from a Napoleon Complex which I totally loved!!! Also sinister Godfery, King John's right hand, who betrayed him by secretly collaborating with King Phillip of France. Not a memorable movie... but I will certainly watch it again with Abdulaziz since we are going to learn about Middle Ages this summer, among other movies of course.

Iron Man 2

On the Weekend we went to watch Iron Man 2

We loved the first part and hoped this part was even better... well.... I really liked it... loved... just loved Robert Downy Jr.

Even Gwyneth whom I don't like that much was good. But Alkalaba Scarlet...making me a mere mortal woman hate myself..

She was amazingly HAWT!!!

The movie was so much fun to watch... Luckily the bad guys aren't Arabs or Muslims this time...but a pcycho Russian and an American!

I just love love him!!! and he was super sexy in this movie! I liked the sparks which went between her character Pepper Potts and Tony Starks...
I think Don Cheadle did a great job and in my opinion
better than Terrence Howard. And he got to wear
the suit!!!

Mickey my darling Mickey Rourke...cold calculating

vengeful villan!! Loved Him!!!

Kalba!!! I love her!

Loved Sam Rockwell!!! Loved the way he smiled

for a moment I thought it was Tom Cruise (esmallah 3alaik ya Sam

b3eed 3anek alshar!)

He was a leech! in the movie and played his part very well

except in a scene where you'll notice the smudges of his fake tan

on his hands.

Samuel L Jackson... as secret agent Furry

It was a super sexy movie and had a lot of fun watching it ;) If you didn't then don't miss it :)
