Sherlock Holmes

I think, no I'm sure, I fell in love with Robert Downey Jr.
before George Clooney! Saw him for the first time in
Chaplin and it was love at first sight!
Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, the only woman
ever to have bested Holmes, and surprisingly strong and independent
during that era.
Jude Law, fell in love with him in the movie Alfie and he is amazing
as Dr. Watson
Mark Strong as the evil Lord Blackwood
If you haven't seen the movie then you must go! Just do not miss it! It is funny, witty and full of twists and turns! I loved the dialogue. The cast was amazing, and if you are a fan of Guy Ritchie movies, you'll definitely recognize his signature in the whole production! So quick and full of wit that Fahad and I have both agreed we must go watch it for a second time! The only thing I didn't like in the movie was Downey's British accent. It just wasn't authentic to my ears. Maybe when I go for the second time I'll have a different opinion about it.

Les Recette de Zizo

Since the vacation started, I've been raking my brains to find interesting activities to interest Abdulaziz. One of them is cooking. First, it is a good mathematical exercise because he has to use and understand the metric system and add or subtract to get the exact amounts required in the recipes, also, to understand different types of foods and try them out(very good for picky eaters). Together we browsed through the many cook books I have and let him chose the recipes he wants to try. On a small piece of paper I let him write the ingredients required and we go shop for them. Well I let him do the shopping. In the kitchen I stand beside him explaining the kind of ingredients he is using and techniques he could use to help him through the recipe, and supervise. In general he does most of the job and this little project is also for his school newspaper.

Superfoods: Eat to Beat Stress

So, do you tend to eat when you're upset or under stress or upset??? I am a stress eater and sometimes I eat when I'm angery or bored, just for comfort. Yeah, blah! And not good for the waist line. I just had two slices of pizza before I started typing this post because the boyz drove me gaga today! Read on, and I hope this article will help. Superfoods: Eat to Beat Stress SELF.com By Lucy Danziger, SELF Editor-in-Chief Happier, Healthier You by Lucy Danziger, SELF Editor-in-Chief Health Expert for Women's Health Do you tend to reach for food when the pressure's on? Relax—everyone does! When I'm under undue stress or edgy about something on the home front, I crave anything that's sweet or chocolaty. For years, that meant munching cookies or ice cream at high-stakes moments. Then I realized there were far healthier ways to satisfy my yen. Now I try to reach for almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds and apples. If I'm still craving chocolate, I allow myself some quality dark squares to ease the urge. But most times, healthy snacks can deliver the same pleasing sugar-and-salt combos as my favorite indulgences and are also good sources of fiber and nutrient-rich, so I can survive an angsty stint without packing on pounds. While editing this feature about stress-fighting foods for SELF, I discovered that digging into the fridge or pantry when you're anxious can actually help calm you down—as long as you seek out the right bites. Try these nibbles to eat your way serene. Spinach Go green! Three cups of spinach delivers 40 percent of your daily magnesium, a mineral that tames stress's effect on the body by preventing blood pressure from spiking, according to Beth Reardon, R.D., director of integrative nutrition at Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. Rustle up a spinach omelet or a Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Frittata before making a big-deal presentation at work—it will keep you focused on the job at hand. Oranges Tension can wear down your immune system, a study from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh finds, but vitamin C appears to be the antidote to anxiety—it strengthens your body's ability to fight off bugs, so you stay well even when life is nutty. Sip orange juice during the crazy holiday season or other times when your calendar is crowded. You can also try marinating chicken or fish in OJ to bring out flavor and enhance tenderness. Orange you calmer now? Chocolate! Hear that? It's the sound of chocoholics the world over (myself included!) breathing a collective sigh of relief. Science confirms what we fans of the sweet stuff have known all along—chocolate really does make you feel better. Cocoa increases your levels of neurochemicals, which deliver a sense of happiness and relaxation, says Alan Hirsch, M.D., director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. Keep a few dark squares in your desk drawer and tear one (or two!) open when you're tense. Or if your family dinners are a bit tense, serve your on-edge relatives a Chocolate Torte the next time they visit and watch them chill out!Try these tips for picking the healthiest types of chocolate. Fish Omega-3 fatty acids in fish such as wild salmon, mackerel and swordfish can quell the jitters. In fact, people who ate more of these beneficial fats for three weeks leading up to a tough quiz halted a surge in stress hormones, a study in Diabetes & Metabolism found. Throw some smoked salmon into your eggs or anchovies into your salad a couple times a week to reduce stress and up your heart health. Oatmeal Goldilocks got it right—a bowl of porridge is a balm for your nerves. The B vitamins in oats spur the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that sends soothing signals to your brain as your body slowly digests the cereal. Linger over Hot Autumn Apple Oatmeal to start the day on an even keel. Suprisingly I love all these foods and will give it a try :)

It's Soo 2010 (Tips from Glamour)

7 Beauty Trends That’ll Be Big This Year
Some may remember 2009 as the year of the ox. Or the year of the vampire. Or perhaps the year of Lady Gaga. But we Girls in the Beauty Department will remember it by its slew of cool beauty trends—many of which will be played out by the time 2010 comes around. Which is why we rounded up the looks that are gonna be huge this year. From bright makeup to matte gloss and big braids, here’s your short list of beauty trends to keep your “total beauty know-it-all” rep going strong.
Look-at-me nails It’s time to ditch the sheer color. Although we loved the low-key champagne-color nails that Vanessa Hudgens wore to the 2008 Golden Globes, this year, nails will be bigger and brighter than ever! From Beyoncé-approved Minx metallic nails to suede polishes and loud neon hues like the one Brittany Gerena is flashing, nails in 2010 are all about expressing you. For great colors and special effects, try mixing and matching the polishes and topcoats from Creative Nail Design.
I love nailpolish and yes! I think I will go with this new trend!
Top-knot buns The chignon is a definite classic, but if you’re looking to change up your ‘do, give the ballerina bun a try. Steal this look from the dance studio, or the runway at Charlotte Ronson, by slicking all your hair back into a high ponytail, smoothing those flyways with a lightweight gel or smoothing cream. Then twist and secure with V-shaped pins (like Bunheads Hair Pins) for the hottest and easiest updo ever.
I have a round face (Mezleganat '7abaz as my former boss used to call it, in good way that is) buns on top or on the side don't look good on me.
Bright ‘n’ cheery lips Wearing your sunglasses at night and sporting a dramatic, dark lip does look pretty badass—but that’s been done (and done well) by Rihanna. Now a fun fuchsia pout is in—like this electric shade seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs. A pop of color makes just as much noise as the vampy black gloss that made its debut on the fall 2009 runways, but it’s 10 times cheerier. For bright lips that last, makeup artist Pat McGrath, who created fluorescent fire-engine red pouts at Prada, suggests using a stain (like CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain) under your lipstick or gloss for “boldness and staying power.”
Yes, this cherry lips is a can do...can't say Riri's lips are very enticing. Some colors no matter how trendy they are don't always look good on a person!
Ribbons as hair accessory If Queen Bee Blair Waldorf’s headbands were declared a college Don’t by Lonely Boy Dan Humphrey on the ‘09 season of Gossip Girl, then it might be time for us to hang up our headbands too. (Or at least give ‘em a day off.) Save the face-covering hair accessories (as seen here on Paris Hilton) for next Halloween and try a ribbon-accented updo like models wore on the Zac Posen runway. Get this look by braiding ribbon or a colored extension into your slicked-back chignon, or be daring with temporary color (like Streekers Wild Weekend) for hair that would make Rainbow Bright proud.
The last time I wore ribbons in my hair was like the Madonna' s bunny ears ribbon around the head in the late '80.
“Bumped up” hair You’ve seen (and maybe you’ve even tried) the infamous “as seen on TV” hair tool Bumpits, designed to add height to your ponytail. But this year, the new thing is to wear your pumped-up Brigitte Bardot-style hair loose, not pulled back. For the kind of sex-kitten volume seen on the catwalk at Paul & Joe, tease hair at the crown and use a texturizer (like Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray) for a “rough and tumble yet super-glamorous” look, says celeb stylist Mara Roszak. The only accessories you’ll need this season are a side part and your best heartbreaker smile.
I love this Bumped up hair do.. almost like a bedhead...no wait! it is a bedhead with anew Jazzy name!
Bright allover eyeshadow Smoky late-night party-girl eyes will always be in style, but all the cutting-edge It Girls have started showing up in colorful, shadowy eye makeup like the ones at Michael Kors. That means it’s A-OK to go crazy with the Crayola hues. The key is to keep it sophisticated—so whether you choose a shade that’s pastel or vibrant, keep the rest of the look neutral with a sheer gloss and bronzer for makeup that’s more dynamic and less Dynasty. One more tip? For more intensity, says makeup pro Pat McGrath, wet shadows to get richer hues.
Looking like clowns in the name of fashion! Maybe I'll try a more subtle color that would gowith my own coloring.
Supersized braids Teeny-tiny hippie braids were everywhere in ‘09—especially on Lauren Conrad, who seemed to work ‘em 24/7. But big, bold and beautiful braids popped up all over the runways this spring—which means they’ll be turning up on celebs and other hair pros soon. To make your braids seem super fresh, squeeze and scrunch them to make them look sexy and carefree—just like you!
I'm planning on chopping my hair, so I doubt I can opt this do anytime soon

2010 Resolutions!

2010 started with a bang! We celebrated the New Year with our kids! Yes, for the first time I let them up past midnight. Seeing the joy on their faces was worth any parties we might have attended. We had fireworks, popguns and cake. Fifteen minutes after midnight, they brushed their teeth and were tucked warmly in bed and sleeping soundly. Of course, most of us have resolutions and for the first couple of months we do our best to keep up with the resolutions we made, but then slowly we start making excuses, "Maybe not today… I'll do it first thing Saturday morning." By the end of the year we forget all about them. I can't remember all the resolutions I made for 2009, but I do remember one of them "Losing weight!" It is the number one resolution around the world! And it's been my resolution every since I can remember! I sat this morning at home by myself making a long list of stuff I want to do or attain by the end of this year. Here it goes: 1- Lose 20kg! Be a little more selfish and take better care of myself. (it's been my resolution for the past 10 years) 2- Build lasting memories with the kids. (I'm still trying to figure out how.) 3- Resume swimming and be serious about it. (Best body shaper exercise) and introduce a new activity. I was thinking squash. (if anyone of you knows a good instructor please feel free to mention him/her) 4- Do a new artistic activity, pottery, painting, piano. (Again please feel free to mention a place or a class which might give something of that sort) 5- Declutter my dressing room (It is a nightmare and I think I should work on it this week). 6- Redecorate my living room. (I've wanted to do it for the past two years and I still don't know what's holding me. Another nightmare I want to wake up from) 7- Get more serious in the kitchen. Maybe work on a cook book. 8- Concentrate on improving the business.
I have strong belief 2010 will be a good year, inshallah. Think positive and get away from negativity. I will keep you update about my efforts in realizing this list. For those who have resolutions of their own, I say, "Good Luck!"
