Shake Shack - Dubai

While in Dubai… I had to try the Shake Shack in Emirates Mall. I know it is opening soon at the Avenues which is to me inconvenient since I don't go to the Avenues unless I had to. I was held up at one of the shops and my sister went ahead and ordered for us. The place was very crowded and there was a long line. They gave her a beeper, so they can call her when the order is ready. When I arrived the order was ready for pick up. It was sooo delicious!
Shake Shack at the Emirates Mall...
I don't recall this burgers name but it had a portbello mushroom
stuffed with cheese which I removed...
I liked my burger better
without it ;)
Our order... Shack burger and fries with cheese.. I loved the Shack burger...so did Fahad, my sister and the kids.
She order some shakes which none of us really touched.
They were just too heavy. Shack Shock shake the chocolate one and some
Vanilla PB shake. I'd have them as a mid day snack but not with
my dinner. All in all it was very delicious.

Short Break

I will be taking a much needed short break.
I'll be back next week inshallah (if God is willing)
So see you then ;)

A Kuwaiti Lunch

Grilled Subaiti fish
The best time during the week is when we are gathered with during
the week for lunch or dinner with family.
Today's lunch is typical and traditional Kuwaiti lunch…
Subaiti fish, White rice, fish marag (Fish ragu) and fried breaded shirmps.
White rice with fish ragu There were extra side dishes for those who were not in the mood for seafood, Meatballs in sweat & sour sauce, selection of Kebbe and samoosa, pasta and mini pizza. Feast your eyes ;) It was a yummy lunch, but the gathering made is all the more delicious ;p

Diet Update - April

OoooK! So there were few ups and downs during April. My main focus was to get up every morning and exercise on the treadmill, which I did. I watched what I ate, except I couldn't resist desserts and chocolates. Not to forget about the yummy Gelato new flavors I had to sample. I didn't lose that much weight, nothing significant. Inspired by Rita Wilsons article which I posted previously, I know I have a slow metabolism. It takes it time until it revs up and start to burn calories and fat. I'm planning this month to make time to exercise at least two times a day, depending on my schedule. We'll see how this will go. Inshallah and I hope beyond that I'll be able to ease a little bit away from sweets and chocolates. It's like following a 12 steps program, except I'm addicted to food and laziness ;p

Where We Get Our Inspiration?

A lot of the infused gelato flavors found at the store were inspired from our travels and food we tried. One evening in Rome we ordered Panna cotta for dessert and it was surrounded with mixed wild berries sauce and it tasted just sublime. "You know…" I began and Fahad knew right away what I was going to say. "Yes, I know…it could be done." He smiles.
As soon as we got back home I googled recipes and started working on it until I reached a satisfactory flavor and very creamy texture. The Panna Cotta with mixed wild berries sauce will be in the store this week, pass by and give it a try and tell me what you think. What do you think?
PS the gelato doesn't look like this in the store.
The sauce is marbalized with the gelato ;)

The Immortals

I've always been crazy about history and mythology. Even after watching Thor, I went on explaining to Abdulaziz about the Viking Gods and what each one of them represents. "Bas mama! You're boring me!" He complains! Me! Boring You!!!! "Ma sewat 3alaih hal movie if your going to give him a mythology lesson after that!" Fahad adds! Ok! I'm a bore!!! Awareekom! I just can't wait for the "Immortals" to come out! Lets see if I'm going to answer any questions about details regarding Greek Gods or mythology which I know Fahad will be asking me.
Relativity has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming Immortals 3D film, which is directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell), and stars Henry Cavill (Superman: Man of Steel, The Tudors) as Theseus, a warrior from Greek mythology, who leads a fight against the imprisoned titans in a story where gods fight alongside mortals. Phaedra (Freida Pinto), an oracle priestess joins Theseus on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting. Along with Cavill and Pinto the film also stars Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion, Luke Evans as Zeus, Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Stephen Dorff as Stavros, John Hurt as an older version of Zeus, Isabel Lucas as Athena and Daniel Sharman as Ares. Immortals Synopsis: The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission. As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.
